Yay! Another Treasury

Hello All,
One of my handmade creations is in another Etsy Treasury called "It's a Man's World" and I'd really appreciate you checking it out. Plus, there's great gift ideas for father's day and graduates too!
Also, I will be selling at Midtown Bazaar tomorrow in downtown Sacramento, 19th and K streets - really easy to find - from noon til 5pm. Come on out and see, it'll be a great time!

YIPPEE Sales! and a new MAP!

So one of the online shops I VERY recently opened has already produced two sales! I'm so thrilled, I had to update my sales map - yes, I'm THAT much of a map geek. :) The new online shop is on Groove Press, which has only been open for about a week. It's a handmade marketplace, much like ArtFire, Etsy and Zibbett. I also opened a shop on Yatimi. I did purchase my domain name, and have a very stripped down, simple webpage up at my new online home: www.RocksMapsandCrafts.com
Hopefully I'll be getting that updated SOON to something more my style!

New Etsy Treasury!

One of my items is featured in a new Sac Etsy Team Treasury! Please check it out.
A Man of Particular Style

In other news, I now have 5 online shops, and am about to register my own domain name and make my own webpage that will link to all 5 shops (so you can shop at the venue of your choice!) and to my blog here. That way I can put ONE thing on my business cards, and have one go-to spot for all things Rocks, Maps and Crafts! More news, and link to new webpage, when I have it!

Treasuries!!!

Oh, and I'm WAY behind on posting the fun and exciting Treasury links! Please check out the following and give them some love (clicks) and if I'm really really lucky, one of them might make the front page of Etsy and give me (and my fellow artisans) a much-needed promotional boost!
Coolest Dudes on Etsy - oh so sexy!
Life is a Journey - wonderful trees of life and spirals
I Got The Rainy Day Blues - so appropriate for the extremely rainy month of March we had in CA
Lighter than air - like clouds, bubbles, feathers, and one of my knotty silk necklaces!

More online shopping opportunities...

I have just opened a new online shop on Zibbet, which is an online handmade marketplace much like Etsy and Artfire. I am also looking to open one more, but we'll see how that one goes. It's a brand-spankin-new online selling opportunity and thus there are a LOT of bugs still to be worked out. If that all goes well and is working, I'll be linking to it here as soon as it's ready, I promise. Meanwhile, please check out my new shop on Zibbett!

In other news I am now working on my Capstone Project Proposal (i.e. Thesis Proposal) and have LOTS to do for that in the next month. I want to present at the NACIS conference in October, so my abstract is due at the end of the month and I'm behind on the research already. So as badly as I want to keep getting items listed in my shops, it's not happening as fast as I'd like and I do have other obligations right now. Then again, I'm a terrible procrastinator and listing items in my shops is a GREAT way to put off the often distasteful task of scientific research... ;)

New Items!

I've managed to list 7 new items in the last 4 weeks and am aiming to get a few more listed in the next day or two. I have added 4 hats, a great open work scarf, a gorgeous necklace with a stunning art-glass focal bead, and this AMAZING cape/shawl. Still to be listed - 4 more scarves, 3 more hats, about a dozen pairs of earrings (many in my fabulous crystal-pear cluster/crystal cascade style) and a half dozen or so fabulous necklaces. Please check my shops and stay tuned!

I love custom creations - part 1

I had the fantastic opportunity recently to make a necklace for a good friend of mine, Renee. We'd been spending a weekend in Monterey last summer and she saw a 3-strand pearl necklace and she was just drooling over it. Then she looked at the price tag, sighed and walked away. Because she is a dear friend, and had so recently done a million things (including preserving my sanity and helping me finish making my veil the night before) for my wedding, I offered to make her something similar, just for the cost of supplies, and my time and skills would be a gift. Well, I ended up finding pearls that were so perfectly "her" that they could've been custom dyed for her. Mauves and golds and peaches and all pearly... so nice. I strung the pearls on silk cord, pale peachy-pink in color that blends right in, and knotted the cord between each pearl to protect them from rubbing against each other. I made three strands in consecutive lengths, and then found the perfect clasp from one of my favorite Etsy sellers (Lily's Offering) for supplies. So I finally got the necklace made for her by the end of January (that's the other thing about custom jobs where I don't charge for my time - they happen "when I get around to it") and she didn't mind how long it had taken at all and was totally thrilled with the necklace. I liked the result so much, I plan to make more. I don't have very many of "her" pearls left, but I did purchase a bunch of other colors and shades in the same size/style and will be making more in the future. Here's a couple of pics of what I've since named "The Renee Pearl Necklace". If anyone would like something similar, feel free to contact me through Etsy or Artfire and I'd be delighted to make one in other colors. Though unless you're also a dear friend, my time won't be free for you! :)
